Gvozdyk vs. Bolotniks Betting Analysis
Oleksandr Gvozdyk
Gvozdyk is a former light heavyweight world champion with a record of 18-1 with 14 KOs. The only blemish on his record is losing the unification title bout against the great Artur Beterbiev in October of 2019. After that, he hadn’t fought for almost 4 years with COVID and the war in Ukraine taking place.
Now after a lot of time off, and at the age of 36, Gvozdyk is looking to make his way back into title contention to get that fight back against Beterbiev–one that he was winning on multiple scorecards before being stopped in the 10th. No matter what happens, it’s good to see Gvozdyk back on the boxing schedule.
Ricards Bolotniks
Bolotniks has had an interesting career. He has more rounds of experience inside the ring, but according to his record, it seems like he has served as a journeyman, fighting upcoming contenders. His 19-6-1 record suggests that he holds his own with the majority of guys he’s been in the ring with.
The Latvian boxer is coming in as the No.4 ranked WBA light heavyweight. Bolotniks also will have a slight height and reach disadvantage this weekend, which will be just one of the reasons he might have a lot of issues getting to Gvozdyk.
Updates
No injuries have been reported for this bout.
Gvozdyk vs. Bolotniks Betting Preview
Boxing betting odds are very difficult to look at when there are massive favorites like this fight has. According to boxing odds, Gvozdyk is a massive -1100 betting favorite over the +620 Bolotniks this weekend.
These odds kind of handcuff you as a Boxing betting sports bettor, and you don’t really have a pick to make that has much value. As the fight week continues, hopefully, major sportsbooks will release some lines for prop bets–which is something you can use to find more value in a betting favorite.
When betting boxing matches, make sure you do the proper research. Promotions like Top Rank Boxing do a great job of posting past fights on Youtube for fans to watch. There are plenty of Gvozdyk and Bolotniks fights to watch.
Before getting to an official Gvozdyk vs Bolotniks prediction, watching past fights and looking at both of their records is something you must do. Figuring out how well they perform against similar competition is something that can be a big help when trying to make boxing predictions.
Gvozdyk vs. Bolotniks Betting Prediction
Betting lines aside, we looked at both men and their past performances. Assuming that Gvozdyk is still similar to what he was in 2019, this should be a very winnable fight for the Ukrainian former-world champ.
Gvozdyk is a really smart fighter that uses his movement very well. He was doing so well against the dangerous Beterviev in his last title fight, that it is tough to imagine he will have any issues with the power punches from Bolotniks.
- The final Gvozdyk vs Bolotniks prediction is that Gvozdyk will finish this fight around the 7th or 8th round.
He is going to be able to control the pace, and as the rounds start adding up, Bolotniks will get worn down and finished.
