The 2024 Valspar Championship will take place this weekend at the Innisbrook Resort and Golf Club. Just outside of Tampa, Palm Harbor Florida will be the home of the event. The par 71, 7.340-yard course will give plenty of challenges to the top golfers in the world. The prize fund for this event is just over $8M. Taylor Moore won the event last season, while Vijay Singh holds the course record of 266 back in 2004. Sam Burns and Paul Casey were back-to-back champions previous to Moore taking down Adam Schenk last season. Let’s take a look at the Valspar Championship betting preview with our latest analysis of the scores and odds:
Favorites to Win The Valspar Championship
There you got the top candidates to win according to our Valspar Championship betting preview:
Xander Schauffele +800
He was oh so close last week at TPC Sawgrass. His final round 70 was the worst round he shot on the weekend. He finished tied for second place. He has a shot late that he could and should have had that would have changed his fortunes. Xander is 6th in the world rankings and 9th in the FedEx Cup. He has been a really good tee-to-green player this season. That’s important at this course and can set a player apart quickly.
Justin Thomas +1200
Justin Thomas missed the cut last week at the Players. Disappointing for a guy that was playing solid golf, after finishing 12 at the Arnold Palmer. Thomas still cannot find his consistency, which has been plaguing him for quite some time now. Thomas has struggled big time with his driving accuracy, as it ranks 160th on the tour. It’s something he has got to get fixed, as the first major – the Masters is coming soon!
Jordan Spieth +1200
The first front nine at TPC Sawgrass saw four bogeys. That hurt his chances from the shoot, and he added two more in the second nine. Jordan has good strokes gained but is all over the place when it comes to driving the ball. Spieth is 113th in accuracy. His best event this season was in Phoenix, where he came away with four rounds of sub-70 golf, and wrapped up a sixth-place finish.
Sam Burns +1200
Burns comes into this event as the 20th-ranked player in the world and is currently 16th in the FedEx Cup standings. The 27-year-old made the cut at the Players, but his final round of 76 eliminated any chances he had. This came one day after a 65. Burns has been pretty good with the putter, ranking 17th in strokes gained. His downfall has been his driving, and greens in regulation. They both rank outside the Top 75 in the world.
Tony Finau +2000
It is always a fun event when you have Tony Finau on the course. One of the most likable players on the entire tour will be 35 this fall. The Salt Lake City native, now living in Arizona, made the cut at the Players, and finished tied for 45th. His worst round was on Sunday, where he went for a 74. Finau is ranked 28th in the world, and 50th in the 2024 FedEx Cup standings. He will look to continue his mastery with the strokes gained to tee, as he is second in all the tour. His putting has been a mess, as he is -0.743 strokes gained putting; one of the worst on the tour.

There you have it. Those are the Valspar Championship betting preview. Our picks for this event are Jordan Spieth +1200 and Brian Harman +3500. Spieth will be well rested after missing the cut at the Players. Look for him to have fixed a few things that led to his opening round 76 at TPC Sawgrass. Having Spieth at +1200 is a good card to have.
Harman was really good last week, finishing in a tie for second place. He has all the tools to win a tournament, just needs a few things to fall into place. We like his odds at +3500!
