Following a commanding 7-0 win in six innings against Washington, the Baltimore Orioles aim to bag their third win in four tries when they kick off a 10-game road trip against the Chicago White Sox in the Windy City. This is the first time that these teams will see each other in MLB matchups this year. Check the White Sox vs. Orioles Odds below.
The White Sox (33-34) came just short of a three-game home sweep against Toronto, losing Wednesday’s tilt by a 9-5 final. Going into tonight, the Southsiders sit in third place in the American League Central, 4.5 games behind Cleveland. They’ve gotten to where they are despite not having much success in Chicago. They’re 15-18 on home turf.
Baltimore (31-39) just split a two-game slate against the Nationals, that coming after a series win over Tampa Bay. Yet, the Orioles still have a ton of ground that they need to gain to catch up in the MLB standings. They trail the American League East-leading New York Yankees by 20.5 games.
Left fielder Austin Hays has been one of the Orioles’ offensive cornerstones – pacing the team with a .287 batting average to this point – and he had a career night against the Nats on Wednesday. In the win, he became the sixth Baltimore player to hit for the cycle.
Hays also has a team-high 40 RBIs, while right fielder Anthony Santander has 13 home runs.
White Sox vs. Orioles Odds
MLB odds favor the Southsiders here. Chicago is -1.5 on the run line at +126, while the Orioles are -152 to cover the spread.
On the moneyline, the White Sox are -162 and Baltimore a +136 underdog. The total has been set at nine runs, with the over being +100 and the under -122 at the time of this writing.
MLB betting trends will tell you that the White Sox are one of the better teams at swinging the bat. Only two AL clubs – the Red Sox and Blue Jays – have better batting averages than Chicago’s .254 mark.
Designated hitter Andrew Vaughn has the eighth-best numbers in that category, hitting .333 at this juncture. For a group that hasn’t been able to club that many baseballs over the outfield fences, the bases are much-needed.
No White Sox player has hit more than first baseman Jose Abreu’s nine. The team ranks in the bottom five of the bigs in long balls. Center fielder Luis Robert has 36 RBIs, tops for the crew.

White Sox vs. Orioles Betting Preview
The Baltimore Orioles are slated to send right-hander Dean Kramer to the mound. The third-year hurler owns a 2.35 ERA in three outings this season. Each of those appearances came this month, the last being against Tampa Bay at Camden Yards last Friday.
Kramer’s showing in that one was crucial, as Baltimore came away with a 1-0 victory. However, even in going six innings – allowing five hits, one walk, and nobody across – he wasn’t the one to come away with the decision. In fact, in his last 11 frames on the hill, he’s only conceded one earned run.
Veteran Johnny Cueto will get the nod for the host Chicago White Sox. He’s appeared in seven games this year – six being starts – and has a 1-3 record. The 36-year-old has a 2.95 ERA.
Chicago has dropped four of the last five games they’ve had Cueto pitch in, but he’ll look to build upon a 7-0 triumph at Houston last Saturday. That was the first time he’d ended up in the win column in 2022.
Chicago White Sox vs. Baltimore Orioles Picks and Predictions
For teams who haven’t particularly set the world on fire, this should be one of the entertaining MLB matchups tonight. Maybe most interestingly, we’ll see how Hays can provide an encore for an incredible feat. His offense will have the better luck here.
Go with the Orioles to win outright with your MLB picks today, taking advantage of an aging Cueto.
