NASCAR Xfinity Series: Championship Betting Preview
Joe Gibbs Racing’s John H. Nemechek has been among our NASCAR Xfinity Series picks consistently throughout the season. Nemechek’s streak of seven consecutive top-ten finishes ended with an 18th-place finish at Martinsville. Nemechek was the highest finisher of the Championship Four in the Xfinity Series’ Spring race in Phoenix, finishing sixth. Nemechek has an impressive season behind him that makes him the betting favorite.
However, JR Motorsports’ Justin Allgaier won the first two stages at the Spring Phoenix race before finishing 36th. Allgaier has momentum on his side, having won at Martinsville, scoring two playoff race wins and five stage wins. Allgaier should push Nemechek and challenge for the Xfinity Series Championship. Allgaier’s teammate, Sam Mayer, has won two playoff races and has three top-five playoff finishes, but he has three sub-25th position finishes in the playoffs. Mayer finished 11th at Phoenix’s Spring race.
Cole Custer started the playoffs strong with four consecutive top-six finishes but has finished outside the top ten in the previous two NASCAR races. Custer finished 12th at Phoenix’s Spring race and is the longshot to win.

NASCAR Cup Series: Championship Betting Preview
We start our NASCAR championship predictions with the top-ranked driver from our mid-season rankings, Hendrick Motorsports’ William Byron. Byron has seven top-ten playoff finishes and hasn’t finished lower than 15th since Michigan. Byron won the Spring race at Phoenix but is the underdog behind his teammate Kyle Larson entering Sunday.
Larson’s playoffs have been impressive with two wins, five stage wins, and six top-ten finishes, but also has two sub-30th place finishes mixed in. Larson finished fourth and won the second stage in Phoenix’s Spring race, entering Championship Sunday as the betting favorite.
If momentum means anything, Ryan Blaney could make it two consecutive Cup Series Drivers Championships for Team Penske. Most of Blaney’s playoff success has come in the last five races, winning at Talladega and Martinsville and scoring two other top-six finishes. Moreover, Blaney finished second at Phoenix’s Spring stop and should be fighting for the win again.
Joe Gibbs Racings started the playoffs with three drivers in contention, with Christopher Bell emerging at the right time and winning his way into the Championship Four at Homestead. Bell has three consecutive top-seven finishes in the playoffs and sixth at Phoenix’s Spring race – the lowest of the Championship Four.
One race to settle it all!
