Hoping their objectively better fortunes continue, the Golden State Warriors will bring in the Utah Jazz for a Friday night matchup. This will be the first of the three meetings these teams will have before the year is through.
Warriors Performance Recap
The Warriors (9-10) have won three of their past four games, including a home win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night.
Golden State won that one, 124-107, behind a 31-point showing by Andrew Wiggins. The total was a season-high for him, as he went 12-for-18 from the field.
He got some help from Stephen Curry, who poured in 22 points, and Klay Thompson, who added another 18. The latter sunk his initial three shots and two threes.
Wiggins’ performance was his third consecutive 20-point effort. Worth mentioning, Jordan Poole missed the mark on each of his eight attempts from beyond the arc.
The Warriors had at least 30 assists for the fifth time in six tries. It was their seventh home win in a row. They’re 8-1 at the Chase Center overall this year.
Utah Performance Recap
Utah (12-8) has dropped two in a row — against the Clippers and Detroit. They hosted the Pistons Wednesday in what wound up being a 125-116 decision.
Malik Beasley paced the Jazz with 29 points in that one, including a season-best eight threes. Jordan Clarkson chipped in with 24 points, and Collin Sexton had a career-high 12 assists.
Lauri Markkanen, who has been the Jazz’s biggest scoring threat (22.0 points per game), was held without a bucket in the first half. Clarkson climbed into third place in the team’s history in three-pointers made.
Golden State has won each of its last four against the Jazz. Does that trend stay the same? Does Utah start a run of its own?
Let’s tell the tale of the tape — including NBA team stats and NBA player stats — before we check out our Jazz vs Warriors odds.

Golden State Warriors vs. Utah Jazz Betting Preview
The Utah Jazz injuries are that of point guard Mike Conley (left leg strain) and forward Rudy Gay (left finger sprain).
As mentioned before, Markkanen paces the scoring. He’s played in all 20 games thus far, while Clarkson has, as well.
Clarkson’s Averaging Numbers
Clarkson has averaged 19.3 points per contest, and Malik Beasley 14.4. Markkanen is also the crew’s most consistent rebounder, yanking down 8.4 boards an outing.
Golden State is without forward Andre Iguodala. Head coach Steve Kerr has said that he won’t be playing in a game any time soon.
Curry’s Leadership
Curry leads the team in scoring (31.6 points per game), rebounding (6.6), and assists (7.2). Of course, he’s a crucial piece of what the Warriors have going on.
Wiggins has had a lot of success as of late, too. He’s bucketing 19.1 points each time out, while Thompson contributes 17.3 and Poole 15.7.
With the core of a championship team back, you have to figure Golden State will put it all together at some point.
