The Aggies of New Mexico State are seeking their third straight win. During their last four games, the Aggies are allowing just shy of 17 points per game. On the season, the defense is 52nd in College Football, allowing 23.1 per game.
The offense for the Aggies is led by Diego Pavia. Pavia has more than 1,600 passing yards and 14 touchdowns, while an additional 429 rushing yards. Jonathan Brady has been his top target in the passing game, with three touchdowns and 338 yards.
New Mexico State is playing their first of back-to-back road games. Next week, the Aggies are at Louisiana Tech. Overall, they play four of their next five on the road, including a trip to Auburn out of conference action. The UTEP Miners are looking to even up their conference record after four games. Last week, Cade McConnell tossed for 262 yards and two touchdowns in his first collegiate start. The win snapped a four-game losing streak.
McConnel has his top weapon in Kelly Akharaiyi, who leads the team with 25 receptions and three touchdowns. But, the Miners offense comes better via the ground, as they are averaging more than 155 yards per game. Looking at their college football players, Torrance Burgess Jr is leading the charge on the ground with 452 yards and two touchdowns.
