Let’s see which team is the one who takes the win on this Ducks at Bruins free betting pick.
The 10th-ranked Oregon Ducks will travel to the Rose Bowl on Saturday afternoon to take on the UCLA Bruins in a Pac-12 Conference matchup. The Ducks are 5-1 (2-1) this season and are coming off a 24-17 home win over the California Golden Bears.
Senior quarterback Anthony Brown had a good game as he finished going 20-of-28 for 244 yards and a touchdown. The Ducks are 5-2 (3-1) this season and are coming off a 24-17 road win over the Washington Huskies. Senior quarterback Dorian Thomspon-Robinson finished going 21-of-26 or 183 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
Dye-ing for Points
The Oregon Ducks have been running the ball effectively behind junior running back Travis Dye this season. So far this year, he has 79 carries for 527 yards (6.7 yards per attempt) with four touchdowns as well as 15 catches for 153 yards (10.2 yards per reception) through the air.
In his last game against the California Golden Bears, he finished with 19 rushes for 145 yards (7.6 yards per run) with a touchdown as well as seven catches for 73 yards (10.4 yards per reception). If they can continue to open holes for him, it will do wonders for the offense.
The Oregon Ducks have been decent on the defensive side of the football as they are allowing 21 points per game this season. In their previous game against the California Golden Bears, they gave up 17 points on 402 total yards of offense (247 passing, 155 rushing).
They need to improve on getting stops as the Golden Bears went 7-of-16 on third down and 1-of-3 on fourth down. They did a great job against the pass as they limited California to go just 5.5 yards per pass attempt. If they can continue to get stops, they will be in a great position here.
Time for Charbonnet
The UCLA Bruins are a run-heavy offense, and junior running back Zach Charbonnet has been doing well. This season, he has 109 rushes for 697 yards (6.4 yards per attempt) with seven touchdowns on the ground and 11 catches for 121 yards (11 yards per reception) through the air.
In his last game against the Washington Huskies, Charbonnet finished with 21 rushes for 131 yards (6.2 yards per attempt) and two receptions for 10 yards (5.0 yards per catch). If he can find the end zone after not reaching it in any of his last three games, it will really help their offense click.
The UCLA Bruins have been a decent defensive team this season as they are giving up 25.1 points per game. In their previous game against the Washington Huskies, they allowed 17 points on 267 total yards of offense (184 passing, 83 rushing).
They need to get stops on “money downs” as Washington went 9-of-14 on third down and converted their only fourth down attempt. The Bruins did a good job of getting stops in the passing game as they forced a pair of interceptions. If they can figure out how to get off the field, they will be in a great spot here.
Who to Bet?
The Bruins are a very slight 1.5-point home favorite in this game, but I want a top-10 program getting points as they are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games against the Bruins.
Both teams love to run the ball and have pretty good defenses, so the under is a good play here as well. All in all, give me Oregon +1.5 and under 59 points in this matchup.
