Boilermakers at Cornhuskers Betting Analysis
On the Purdue side
The Purdue Boilermakers have a gifted wide receiver in junior wideout David Bell this season as he has 44 receptions for 712 yards (16.2 yards per catch) with four touchdowns and a 26-yard run. In his last game against the Wisconsin Badgers, he struggled as he finished with just six catches for 33 yards (5.5 yards per reception) without finding the end zone. It will do well for the Boilermakers if he can figure out how to get back in his regular game production.
The Purdue Boilermakers have been playing exceptionally well on the defensive side of the football as they are giving up just 16.3 points per game. In their previous game against the Wisconsin Badgers, they allowed 30 points on 342 total yards of offense (52 passing, 290 rushings). The most significant number to be excited about as Wisconsin went 1-of-11 on third-down attempts. The Badgers ran the ball exceptionally well as they went 5.7 rushing yards per attempt. If they can figure out how to get some key stops again, they should be in a great spot here.
On the Nebraska side
The Nebraska Cornhuskers have been doing pretty well throwing the football, and it helps with the fact that senior wide receiver Samori Toure is on the field. So far this season, Toure has 27 catches for 521 yards (19.3 yards per reception) with three touchdowns through the air and seven rushes for 64 yards (9.1 yards per carrying) with a touchdown run. He only had one catch for a single yard in his previous game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Toure needs to be more involved if the Cornhuskers want to be a competitive NCAAF team in this game.
The Nebraska Cornhuskers have been a solid defensive team, and it is carrying them as they are allowing 19.4 points per game. In their previous game against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, Nebraska gave up 30 points on 396 total yards of offense (214 passing, 182 rushings). The Golden Gophers have been struggling to convert as they went 3-of-9 on third down and converted their only fourth-down attempt. The Cornhuskers have been forcing turnovers as Nebraska’s defense picked off Minnesota twice last week. If they can figure out how to do this against Purdue, it will be a great sign for their defense.
Boilermakers at Cornhuskers Cornhuskers
The Boilermakers are more of a one-dimensional offense as they do not run the ball as often as many other programs. This season, Adrian Martinez has been a beast as he has 20 total touchdowns (10 passing, ten rushings) in just eight games and could dominate here offensively. Both defenses are similar, but Nebraska should be able to break through offensively. Go with the Nebraska Cornhuskers to cover the spread at home here against the Purdue Boilermakers?
