UCLA Bruins at Stanford Cardinal Betting Preview
We turn our attention out west to a Pac-12 showdown as the No. 24 UCLA Bruins are on the road to face the Stanford Cardinal. This will be the first meeting between these two teams this season. The Bruins are coming off a crushing defeat, while the Cardinals have won two straight since dropping the opener. Take a look to this NCAAF Bruins at Cardinal betting preview.
UCLA Bruins Preview
The No. 24 ranked team is coming into this contest sitting at 2-1 on the season. The Bruins were stunned this past weekend after dropping one to the Fresno State Bulldogs. This team kicked off the season strong with wins over Hawaii in the opener and an upset of their own after taking down LSU. The Bruins offense was held at bay in the loss to Fresno State and headed into this Pac-12 matchup; handling the ball will be their main focus after some head-scratching turnovers.
On the season, Dorian Thompson-Robinson leads the Bruins with 390 passing yards with four touchdowns and one interception. He also has 16 carries for 21 rushing yards on the year. The running back tandem of Zach Charbonnet and Brittain Brown has been elusive this season as they have a combined eight touchdowns on 397 yards. Greg Dulcich leads the wide receiver core with four catches and 132 yards with one touchdown.
Despite being on the road and finding themselves fresh off a loss, the Bruins are still 4 point road favorites in this game. If they are hoping to avoid making it two in a row, they are going to need to secure the ball and play much better down the stretch.
Stanford Cardinal Preview
While UCLA is coming off their first loss of the season, the Stanford Cardinals are coming off back-to-back wins after their lone loss came in the season opener. This team was victim to Kansas State in week one but turned around and earned a top 25 win against No. 14 USC and then took care of business against Vanderbilt.
Quarterback Tanner McKee has been the key cog in leading this team as he is coming off a two-touchdown performance where he threw for 218 yards. They will need another big game from McKee and a quality team effort if they are hoping for their second win over a top 25 team.
This season McKee has thrown for 352 yards on 31-41 attempts with three touchdowns and no interceptions. Nate Peat has been the leading rusher for the team with one touchdown but a team-best 118 rushing yards. Bryce Tremayne has eight catches on the team for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
After their sluggish start, the Cardinals have found a rhythm here of late. This is going to take a collective effort on both sides of the ball to knock off the Bruins, who will be hungry for a win after their recent loss. McKee will be the guy to watch as his play will dictate just what this team is able to do.
These two programs are very familiar with one another as the UCLA Bruins hold a 45-43 record over the Cardinals. The last two times these teams met was back in 2020, with the Cardinals coming away with a 48-47 double-overtime win. This series has been very tight, as shown by the numbers, but one note to pay attention to is that the Cardinals are 9-1 in the last matchups. This should be another back and forth contest and a high-scoring affair that comes down to the wire.
