The Bills helped put the ghosts of seasons past behind them last week. Buffalo went into Foxborough and wrestled control of the AFC East Division title race back by beating New England 33-21 on the road.
Buffalo, which is now 9-6, has won two straight and is starting to show signs of being the team people thought they would be when the season started.
Atlanta snuck by the pesky Lions last week to move to 7-8 and enter the last two weeks of the season with a chance to finish with a winning record.
Falcons at Bills Betting Analysis
On the Falcons side
Rookie tight end Kyle Pitts continues to dazzle in his rookie season. Pitts caught six passes for 102 yards in the Falcons’ victory over the Lions. He now has 949 yards on the season, which moved him past Tony Gonzalez for most yards by a Falcons tight end.
With another big game, Pitts will be in line to pass Mike Ditka, who had 1,076 yards, for most receiving yards by a rookie tight end.
Atlanta veteran quarterback Matt Ryan has still been effective, completing 67.9 percent of his passes for 3,555 yards and 19 touchdowns. The Falcons’ defense hasn’t produced many turnovers this season, intercepting nine passes and recovering eight fumbles.
Atlanta has the ninth-worse passing defense, allowing 3,660 passing yards. Atlanta’s defense has struggled overall, ranking toward the bottom third of the league in yards allowing, conceding 364.9 yards per game.
On the Bills side
Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen appeared reinvigorated in the Bills win over the Patriots. He passed for 314 yards and threw three touchdowns to help Buffalo ease past New England and win its second straight game. It is the first time the Bills have won back-to-back games since they won four in a row in September.
Buffalo’s defense also rounded back into form as well. The Bills intercepted Mac Jones twice and also recovered two fumbles. The Bills now have a plus-10 turnover margin on the season.
Buffalo’s defense has been stingy throughout the season, limiting opponents to a league-best 287.9 yards per game.
Falcons at Bills Prediction
The Bills’ ship appeared to be shipping over the past month-and-a-half, but the victory over New England has people thinking big. Many sportsbooks have the odds of Buffalo’s game with Atlanta with the Bills as 13.5-point favorites and -900 on the moneyline. The over/under is set at 44.5 points.
This is a classic letdown spot for Buffalo. The Bills won’t lose this game, especially with how tight the race is for the AFC’s No. 1 spot.
However, Buffalo is 4-4 against the spread following a win this season, and Atlanta has been playing better as of late. The Bills will win, but the Falcons will cover the spread.
