Jacksonville Jaguars. Though the Cowboys are looking good in terms of the playoff picture, the Jacksonville Jaguars are still fighting for their chance at a postseason berth.
If the Jaguars have any chance of stealing the division from Tennessee, they’ll have to show up and out in this game.
Dallas Cowboys vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Matchup Info

The 10-3 Cowboys come into this one with many doubting the team after their performance against the lowly Texans.
The Jaguars, on the other hand, are coming into this one, having won over many fans in their last performance, proving that though the team is young, the hype around the names on the squad is warranted.
Can the Jags continue with their recent success against a high-powered Cowboys team?
Dallas Cowboys Performance Recap and Analysis
Though the Dallas Cowboys schedule 2022 has been relatively kind to them, last week, the team stumbled against the worst team in the NFL, the Houston Texans.
They narrowly escaped the game with a win off a last-minute Ezekiel Elliot touchdown 27-23.
Dak Prescott’s Performance
Though Dak Prescott didn’t play horribly, his two interceptions stained his otherwise respectable NFL player stats, as he threw for 24/39, 284 yards, 1 TD, and 2 INTS.
The game, in general, didn’t feel like the 10-3 Cowboys that we’ve been watching all season, as the Cowboys have looked pretty good this year, putting up great NFL team stats on both sides of the ball, currently 3rd in the league in both points scored per game and points allowed per game.
Expect Dallas to try and get their run game going, as last week it slowed down a little as the Cowboys only picked up 127 yards on the ground, 23 of which came from Prescott.
With their season average sitting at 144.5 rushing yards per game, the Cowboys can, and I expect, will play better on the ground next week against Jacksonville.
Key Injuries
The Cowboys are one of the more beat-up teams in the NFL currently, with 10+ players on IR.
One player to keep an eye on is stud Corner Trevon Diggs who is currently listed as questionable with a thumb injury on the NFL injury report.
Betting Trends to Know
The Cowboys are 3-2 against the spread in away games this year.
Jacksonville Jaguars Performance Recap and Analysis
The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming into this one red hot off of an impressive win in Tennessee, thumping the Titans 36-22, improving the Jacksonville Jaguars record to 5-8.
Trevor Lawrence looked like the QB that fans were expecting when he was drafted first overall, throwing for 30/42, 368 yards, and 3 TDs.
Tight End Evan Engram was still the weapon he was in New York, getting 11 receptions for 162 yards and 2 TDs.
Explosion of Potential
This explosion of potential is what Jags fans have been waiting for all season, playing pretty middle-of-the-road football, allowing as many points per game as they score, ranking them 15th in both categories.
Though there are struggles getting points on the board, the Jags haven’t had any trouble moving the ball, as they currently rank 11th in the league in yards per game.
Scoring Trouble
Their scoring trouble can be attributed to the fact that they struggle in the red zone, scoring TDs on only 53% of their red zone trips this season.
If last week was a sign of things to come, the Jags would be fine moving forward, and though they’re pretty far behind in the NFL standings, if enough things happen in the Jags’ favor, they could take the division from the Titans in the waning moments of the 2022 season.
Key Injuries
Jacksonville, overall, is on the healthier side of things. However, fans should keep an eye on Chad Muma, Travon Walker, and Andre Cisco, as all three defensive starters are listed as questionable.
Betting Trends to Know
The Jags are 3-3 against the spread at home this season.
Cowboys vs. Jaguars Odds
The NFL odds have the Dallas Cowboys as -4.5 favorites against the spread with a moneyline of -230, while the comeback on the Jaguars money line is +195. The point total is set at 47.5
Dallas Cowboys vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Betting Picks
Moneyline
The Cowboys are a much tougher opponent than the Tennessee Titans when it comes to NFL matchups for the Jaguars.
My Cowboys vs Jaguars prediction has the Cowboys being able to handle the Jaguars easily.
NFL Pick: Cowboys (-220)
Over/Under
Given Jacksonville’s recent success, I get why people would be tempted to bet the over.
However, I don’t see the Jaguars finding a way to put up points on this Dallas defense, and I see no way in my Cowboys vs Jaguars prediction for the over to hit.
NFL Pick: Under 48 (-110)
Spread
My Cowboys vs Jaguars prediction is that the Cowboys will cover the spread easily as they will jump out to an early lead leaving Jacksonville unable to catch up.
NFL Pick: Cowboys -4.5 (-110)
Dallas Cowboys vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Score Prediction
My Cowboys vs Jaguars prediction is the Cowboys win this one handily and move past any doubts brought up by last week’s performance. I have the Cowboys winning 31-13
