A pair of struggling teams in the National Football League will get together Sunday in a Week 5 affair. The New Orleans Saints, who started the season 2-0, will take on the New England Patriots. In their previous matchup, the Saints beat the Patriots 28-13 on September 26th, 2021.
The Saints are 2-2, coming off a blowout loss at home to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Saints are now tied with Atlanta in second place and trail Tampa Bay by a game.
The New England Patriots were woeful in the loss to Dallas. They are now 1-3 on the season, tied with the New York Jets in third place in the AFC East.

While both offenses have struggled big time, one has a better defense: the New Orleans Saints. Despite this game being on the road, New Orleans will come away with the moneyline win in this affair.
Ugly, sloppy football game between the Saints and the Patriots. Look for defenses to win out. We are hoping for no defensive touchdowns, which would ruin the UNDER.
We will take our chances, and there are turnovers, but no deadly ones. Take the Saints and the UNDER, as both teams settle at 20 or under.

New Orleans Saints vs. New England Patriots Betting Analysis
New Orleans’ Recent Performance
After back-to-back wins to start the 2023 season, Dennis Allen was getting praise around the league for the job he did with his team. Now, after scoring just 13 points per game in their last two games, the Saints are scratching their heads.
When looking at NFL Team Stats, New Orleans has been solid on the defensive end this season, as they rank 9th, allowing just 19 points per game.
Alvin Kamara was suspended for the first three games, but when you have a tight end, Taysom Hill, leading the rushing attack after four games, you are likely not doing it very well. The Saints are 25th in rushing offense. Hill has 101 yards on the ground. Second-year receiver Chris Olave leads the attack but has yet to reach the end zone.
The Saints are on the road for back-to-back games. Next week, New Orleans goes to Houston.
Struggles of the Patriots Offense
Mac Jones was poor in the loss to the Cowboys. His NFL Player Stats showed he was 12 of 21 for 160 yards, two interceptions, and lost a fumble. Now, he is in jeopardy of losing his starting position to Bailey Zappe. Jones, through four games, has five touchdown passes, with two of them going to veteran tight end Hunter Henry.
The Patriots are one of the worst offensive teams in the league, with just 13.8 points per game. The New England rushing attack is averaging less than 100 yards per game. The addition of Ezekiel Elliott has not paid immediate dividends for the team; his NFL MVP odds are not looking great.
Rhamondre Stevenson is the top rusher with 164 yards on the season. New England Patriots stats are going to have to improve, or this is going to be a lost season.
The Patriots are on the road next week at the Raiders, but then have the Bills and Dolphins to wrap up October.
New Orleans Saints vs. New England Patriots Betting Picks
As mentioned earlier, we do not like either offense from the Saints or the Patriots right now. Going forward, the Saints have a better chance of breaking out.
The Patriots’ offense is pretty poor and will likely remain that way. If the Patriots do not start Mac Jones, that could change some things, but we are betting they stick with him.
Barring any late additions to the NFL injury report, look for defenses to win out here. The Saints pick up a big win on the road. Not only are we taking them with the NFL point spreads, but also as a moneyline underdog.
Our final Saints vs Patriots picks & parlays – betting the New Orleans Saints +105 and including the UNDER 39.5 points are the betting picks for this game on Sunday!
