San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams Betting Analysis
The 49ers sent Trey Lance to Dallas because they had so much confidence in Brock Purdy returning and doing what he did to finish last season. After his first start of 2023, that is a great idea.
Looking at the NFL team stats, Purdy was terrific for the 49ers, finishing with 220 passing yards and two touchdowns. Brandon Aiyuk was his target early and often in the game, finishing with eight receptions, 129 yards, and two touchdowns. His NFL MVP odds are slim.
Christian McCaffrey, at this point in his career, never surprises anyone with his final numbers. In a game that felt slow for the running back, he got 22 carries and finished with 152 yards and a touchdown. On the defensive end, the 49ers caused Kenny Pickett to throw two interceptions, and they held Najee Harris to just 31 rushing yards in his NFL Player Stats. Anytime you get a San Francisco 49ers game, you never know what offensive weapon will come through.
For the Rams, Sean McVay needed the offseason to regroup and prepare for the 2023 season. This will be a challenging season for McVay with so many new faces in the lineup. Week One was positive, with a masterful game plan and a big win over Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks.
Cam Akers and Kyren Williams got a bunch of carries for the Rams, with Williams finishing with 52 yards and two touchdowns. TuTu Atwell was the top receiver, as he went over 100 yards on six receptions. Matthew Stafford finished the game with 334 passing yards, which was second most in all of Week 1. The Los Angeles Rams schedule in Week 3 sends them to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals.
San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams Betting Picks
Heading back with our picks for this game. Barring any late additions to the NFL injury report, this will be a fun one. The 49ers are one of the most talented teams in the league.
Brock Purdy has been outstanding. Matthew Stafford will have his work cut out to stay competitive in this game. But look for him and McVay to carry through a good game plan and stay close.
