Just when it looked like the LA Galaxy had turned the corner for the 2023 season, they had to go on the road; with just two road points on the season, the MLS picks are high as Galaxy started a two-game road trip with a 2-0 loss at Columbus on Wednesday.
Now the MLS schedule has them staying on the road and going to Washington D.C. for a showdown with United.
The DC United vs LA Galaxy odds are among the most even for all of this weekend’s MLS games. D.C. United have fallen out of the playoff picture in the MLS standings as they haven’t won in league play since April 29. That game was also the last time they scored more than one goal, and they drew 0-0 at Philadelphia in their midweek game.

D.C. United vs. LA Galaxy Betting Preview
D.C. United
The D.C. United squad had a great two-week stretch in April where they won three straight games. But outside of those three contests against struggling MLS teams, United have just one win all season. They have scored 16 goals on the season while also allowing 16 goals.
Christian Benteke leads the team with five goals scored, and Taxiarchis Fountas has three. However, Fountas had to leave the May 13 game against Nashville in the 22nd minute with a thigh injury, and he didn’t play against the Union. Steve Birnbaum and Pedro Santos are also hobbled for United.
Goalkeeper Tyler Miller has started all 13 MLS games with 16 goals allowed. He has four clean sheets and has only allowed four goals in total in the last six games.
LA Galaxy
The Galaxy won two in a row before they went to Columbus and got shutout. They have been blanked five times this season, all on the road. That fact impacts their MLS odds for road games as they haven’t scored outside Los Angeles since the season opener on March 4.
The Galaxy have scored 10 goals in 12 league games and only Dejan Jovelic has scored more than one goal. Chicharito should return to the starting lineup Saturday after playing 30 minutes off the bench in Wednesday’s loss. The Mexican striker has one goal and one assist on the season but has gone four games without contributing to a goal.
Injuries to Douglas Costa, Sega Coulibaly, and Chris Mavinga hurt the roster, and no one has stepped up in their absence. Goalkeeper Jonathan Bond recently returned from injury, and he has a 1-2-2 record with seven goals allowed this season.
D.C. United vs. LA Galaxy Betting Picks
Over/Under: Under 2.5 goals.
With the DC United vs LA Galaxy odds at plus money on the under, it is the way to go here. A 0-0, 1-0 or 1-1 game fits both of these teams as they struggle to score consistently and have better-than-average defenses.
Moneyline/Run Line: D.C. United +105.
The Galaxy cannot be trusted on the road at all. They have two 0-0 draws away from home and no wins on the season. United aren’t great at home but they have a much better chance of scoring than the Galaxy do on the road.
