Buffalo looks to overcome another trauma
Stop if you’ve heard this one before, the Buffalo Bills had an excruciating playoff last season. The Bills will get a chance to exact some revenge on the Kansas City Chiefs on the road in a late afternoon game. Buffalo has been knocked out of the playoffs the last two seasons by Kansas City.
What made last year’s loss so tough was the Bills overcoming a late deficit to take a three-point lead with 13 seconds remaining. Kansas City would get into field goal range and win in overtime on a Travis Kelce touchdown. Both teams will be eager to use the game as a measuring stick.
Other important matchups
- Tom Brady has spent his career torturing the entire NFL. But one team he has delighted tormenting the most was the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brady, who will return to Heinz Field for the first time as a Buccaneer, is 9-3 all-time against the Steelers in the regular season, including a 4-3 mark on the road. With Pittsburgh likely headed for a struggling season, this could be a chance for Brady to add another win.
- Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts’ progress will be tested as the Eagles take on divisional rival Dallas. The Cowboys lit up the Eagles’ defense last season, scoring a combined 92 points in two games last season. Dallas has won three straight games against the Eagles.
- A matchup between star quarterbacks with Denver’s Russell Wilson and Los Angeles’ Justin Herbert will star in a divisional matchup in Los Angeles. Both teams missed out on the playoffs last season, but have high hopes for this year.
- Arizona will head to Seattle to take on a Seahawks team down on their luck. The Seahawks have won three of the past five meetings between the teams and lead the all-time series 23-22-1.
