The Texas Children Houston Open will take place this weekend from the Memorial Park Municipal Golf Course in Harris County. This is near downtown Houston. The course has been around since 1946, and is a 7,432 yard par 70. The prize pool for this event is over $9M. A season ago, there was no tournament. That makes Tony Finau the defending champion. He beat Tyson Alexander by four strokes. There is no golfer in this event that has won it twice before.

Odds to Win Texas Children Houston Open
Let’s take a look at our Texas Children Houston Open betting preview:
Scottie Scheffler +300
The #1 player in the world continues to play great golf. The leader in strokes gained, and strokes gained tee to green and has the best scoring average in the country. He is also second in greens in regulation. Scheffler is doing many things well. He won the Players Championship, and also the Arnold Palmer. There is no hotter golfer in the world right now. He is the big favorite for this event. It is not easy to win three straight events, but if anyone is going to do it, Scottie is a great choice.
Wyndham Clark +1400
Many would not know that Wyndham Clark is second on the FedEx Cup points standings as we finish up the month of March. Clark finished second at the Arnold Palmer and a tie for second at the Players. Clark also won the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February. He has yet to miss a cut this season. He is second in strokes gained, and 15th in driving distance. His consistency is something the 30-year-old from Denver has been searching for during his 7-year playing career. It will be interesting where this goes from here for Clark. He is second in terms of betting odds for this event, at 14/1.
Tony Finau +1800
Finau has not had a great season so far. He missed the cut at the Valspar and was 45th at the Players. He did go back-to-back Top 20 finishes at the Genesis and the Mexico Open. But, the defending champion is always dangerous at an event like this. We would like to see more out of his putter, as it is 168th on the tour right now. He has been able to get it close to the hole, as his proximity is 12th, but knocking them down has been a huge issue. Finau is listed at +1800 to win this event.
Will Zalatoris +2000
The 27-year-old is a very talented player but is not playing fantastic golf right now. Zalatoris missed the cut at the Players, which was a major surprise to many. Zalatoris is currently 30th in the world and 13th in the FedEx Cup points. The 27-year-old from San Francisco has struggled with his putting, as he is 109th on the tour. He has been great getting to the green, as he is 19th strokes gained to green. It will be interesting if Zalatoris can find the putter, which will be very vital in this event. He is listed at 20/1 odds.
Sahith Theegala +2000
Theegala is the fifth on the FedEx Cup standings so far this season. In the world rankings, he sits at 14th. The 26 year old from Chino Hills California has only been a professional since 2020, but continues to rise. Theegala is coming off a Top 10 finish at the Players, which came after a sixth place at the Arnold Palmer. He has been good overall, with the 14th best scoring average, which alot of that has come from his ability to knock down putts. He is 12th on the tour at 0.821 strokes gained putting.
