Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Dallas Cowboys Betting Preview
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars are coming off a divisional title a season ago with nine wins. The Jaguars won their last five games to claim the crown. Then, the Jaguars won a playoff game as well. This season, Jacksonville has high hopes after returning pieces that were successful then.
The Jaguars will take a look at a couple of new offensive weapons in Tank Bigsby at running back and Brenton Strange at tight end. Neither of these two players has great NFL MVP odds.
While the depth chart may show Jacksonville with some question marks, the offensive unit is fairly set in place. Trevor Lawrence will lead the charge, with CJ Beathard and Nathan Rourke backing him up. The latter two should get time in this game.
Homecoming Challenge
Travis Etienne Jr will get the running back carries, with Bigsby, JaMycal Hasty, and D’Ernest Johnson next in line. The receiving core of Christian Kirk, Calvin Ridley, and Zay Jones has things to prove but big-time upside.
The Jacksonville Jaguars schedule shows they will start on the road at the Indianapolis Colts. This is a game they will be a road favorite in. Then, Jacksonville heads home, but it’s not smooth sailing, as in Week 2, the Kansas City Chiefs come to town.
Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott has all but promised a successful 2023 season for the Dallas Cowboys. What is defining success for a team that has spent way too long without getting to the Super Bowl? That’s another question. The Cowboys once again should be a playoff contender, but on the outside, looking in behind the Eagles and 49ers to win the NFC.
Looking at the recent NFL player stats, the Cowboys drafted Mazi Smith, a defensive tackle out of Michigan, in the first round and Luke Schoonmaker, a tight end also from Michigan, in the second round.
Both of those guys should get opportunities in this game. The Cowboys welcome Cooper Rush and Will Grier behind Prescott at the quarterback position. Those two will get chances in this game. Dallas let Ezekiel Elliott leave, which opens the door for Tony Pollard.
Preseason Showdowns
Behind him are Malik Davis, Ronald Jones, and Deuce Vaughn. Dallas is excited for the former Kansas State star in Vaughn. When push comes to shove, the Dallas Cowboys will be near the top of NFL team stats for total offense.
The Cowboys will play their three preseason games, as they go to Seattle and back home against Vegas, before they start the regular season. The first game of the season for the Cowboys is Sunday Night Football in New York, as they take on the Giants.
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Dallas Cowboys Betting Prediction
This is one of the 16 NFL Matchups for preseason Week 1. Despite it being a preseason game, expect the fans in Dallas to be up and ready for this game. The fans know this is a big season and will be ready for some mid-August football.
