Let’s see which team is the one who takes the win on this Seminoles at Tar Heels betting pick.
The Florida State Seminoles are on the road to take on the North Carolina Tar Heels this weekend in Chapel Hill, N.C. The kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m., and the game will be shown on ESPN and the ACC Network.
Florida State Seminoles Preview
The Seminoles finally won their first football game of the season on Saturday in walk-off fashion over the Syracuse Orange. Kicker Ryan Fitzgerald hit a 34-yard field goal attempt as time expired to lift the Noles over the Orange 33-30 on Saturday.
Quarterback Jordan Travis set yet another record in Florida State history as he now holds the title of leading career rusher at the QB position with 932 yards. He also holds another record with seven straight contests with a rushing touchdown dating back from last season.
In the win over the Orange, Travis completed 22 of 32 passes for 131 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. On the season, he is 36/60 with 368 yards and six touchdowns with five interceptions. The dual-threat QB also has 145 rushing yards on the season with one touchdown.
Last season the Seminoles were 13.5 point underdogs and pulled off a big-time upset over UNC. This season is much of the same as FSU is 17 point underdogs and will face some adversity for the second consecutive season. Despite being huge underdogs, history is on their side as they lead the all-time series 16-3-1 and have won the last two games in Chapel Hill.
North Carolina Tar Heels Preview
The North Carolina Tar Heels came into this season with hopes and were the early favorites to push Clemson for the ACC crown, but since the start of the season, things have not looked that way.
The Tar Heels are fresh off a dominant win over long-time rival the Duke Blue Devils 38-7 over the weekend. The win pushed the Tar Heels to 3-0 at home with wins over Georgia State (59-17) and Virginia (59-39). Their two losses have come on the road to the Virginia Tech Hokies in the season opener and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets last weekend.
In the win over Duke, Sam Howell looked like the quarterback that was expected to be a Heisman candidate this season. Howell was 18/32 with 321 yards and three touchdowns with no turnovers. Ty Chandler led the backfield with 12 carries for 53 yards and a score, and Josh Down had eight catches for 168 yards and a touchdown catch.
This was a much-needed win for a team that was wavering to find some consistency and get back on track in the conference. The good news for the Heels is the Seminoles have given up 30 or more points in 10 of the last 12 games in 2020 and 2021.
The Seminoles upset No. 5 UNC in Tallahassee last season 31-28, and the last time these two teams met in Chapel Hill was 2009.
