In one of our favorite NFL Matchups last season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Minnesota Vikings are scheduled to mix it up on Sunday in a National Football League tilt. Tampa Bay comes into the game fresh off their NFC South title of a season ago.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers record was 8-9, but still came away one game better than the rest of the division. Tampa Bay went 2-1 in the preseason, losing their opener and winning their final two games. For the Minnesota Vikings, they went 0-3 in preseason play.
The Vikings are the defending NFC North Champion. Minnesota went 13-4 in the NFL Standings but lost in the wildcard round to the New York Giants.
Looking at the NFL schedule, we should be in for an exciting game! It is time for our Buccaneers vs Vikings betting picks.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Minnesota Vikings Analysis
Gone is Tom Brady from the Buccaneers offense. While Brady was not terrific a season ago, he still led the offense and was a strong personality and leader. Now, the offense goes through Baker Mayfield.
Mayfield has spent several seasons in the National Football League. This could be a make-or-break type season for the 28-year-old out of Oklahoma. Mayfield will not be like Brady and be at the top of the NFL MVP Odds.
Mayfield did not play much at all a season ago. He finished the year with the Los Angeles Rams and played in the final game of the season. He threw two touchdowns in that game. Mayfield will start ahead of former Florida Gators quarterback Kyle Trask.
Also gone is Leonard Fournette. In his place will be running back Rachaad White. Chase Edmonds and Ke’Shawn Vaughn should be next in line for Tampa Bay.
Looking at the NFL team stats, the two guys that are back that should be problems for opponents are Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. Evans led the offense with 1,124 yards and six touchdowns last season.
Major Shakeup
For Minnesota, they also have key offensive players gone. Gone is Dalvin Cook. Cook was the leading rusher for the Vikings for many seasons. Now, Cook is with the New York Jets.
Last season, Dalvin ran the football for 1,173 yards and eight touchdowns. In his place will be Alexander Mattison. Mattison scored five touchdowns last season.
Also gone is Adam Thielen. Looking at the NFL player stats, Thielen was the second-leading receiver for Minnesota with 70 receptions and six touchdowns. Justin Jefferson is back, and he and TJ Hockenson will be one of the toughest combinations to stop in the passing game.
Jefferson was 191 yards shy of 1,000 a season ago. It will be interesting to watch how much Minnesota Vikings injuries affect them this season and which players will be on the NFL injury report.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Minnesota Vikings Betting Picks
- Our Buccaneers vs Vikings betting picks: Minnesota Vikings -6 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the under 45.5 points.
The total is set close to what we expect this game to be. So, if you want to avoid that game, we do not blame you. That could go either way. But taking the Vikings is the way to go in this game.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Minnesota Vikings Prediction
The Minnesota Vikings will win this game and win it easily. Sure, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a good defense back. But this offense is going to be a big-time problem.
The offense has Mike Evans and Chris Godwin, but their running game is a question mark, and their quarterback play is a question mark. Both of those are problems. The predictions for this game are the Vikings win by double digits.
- The final score bet for this game is the Minnesota Vikings 28-17 over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
