Can Arsenal Win the Premier League?

So far, Arsenal has been the surprise package in the 2022-23 Premier League. They have spent practically all season at the top, but Manchester City is hot on their heels and ready to pounce on any mistakes. Can Arsenal champions 2023 make it?
Can the Gunners stay at the top and become Premier League champions for the first time since the Invincibles in 2004? Or will the experienced champions overhaul the Londoners and retain their crown? In this preview, we take a look at the Arsenal champions’ 2023 Premier League betting odds and give you our title predictions.
Two-Horse Race?
In reality, it looks likely to be a two-horse race between Arsenal and Man City for the 2022-23 Premier League title. Newcastle United might have something to say about that, but these two have been the standout sides so far.
Before a ball was kicked in anger this season, not many would have had Arsenal down as their Premier League title winners. However, since their opening win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, Mikel Arteta’s men have certainly played like champions.
Man City can never be ruled out. The City players know exactly what it takes to win Premier League titles, and they are the more experienced of the two clubs in that regard. The Gunners opened up a nice gap before the 2022 FIFA World Cup break, but Man City can claw back the points in the second half of the EPL schedule.
At the time of writing, the Arsenal champions’ 2023 odds are around +150. Despite trailing in the latest Premier League standings, City are the favorites at Premier League odds of just -163.
Gunners Must Replace Jesus
One of the best bits of business that Mikel Arteta did last summer was bringing in Gabriel Jesus from Man City. Jesus hit the ground running at the Emirates Stadium and played a huge role in their success in the first half of the season.
However, the Brazilian was injured while on World Cup duty in Qatar, and the attacker is now sidelined with a long-term injury. The goals may have dried up, but Jesus’ impact on the team was getting stronger and stronger each game. He will no doubt be a big miss for the Londoners.
Arsenal has the entirety of January to bring in a replacement for Jesus.
Eddie Nketiah has done well when called upon, but the Londoners need more firepower if they are to sustain a title push. The Gunners have been linked with Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk in the January Transfer Window.
Who Are the Dark Horses?
Newcastle United
Newcastle United is having a season to remember under Eddie Howe. At the time of writing, the Magpies have suffered just one defeat and recently held Arsenal to a goalless draw at the Emirates Stadium.
The title may be a step too far this season, but big-spending United are certainly heading in the right direction. A UEFA UEFA Champions League place is well and truly within their reach this year.
Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag had a torrid start to his Man United career, but the Dutchman has certainly turned things around at Old Trafford. The Red Devils are in stunning form right now, suffering just one league loss since losing the Manchester derby in early October.
Ten Hag is starting to turn the screw at Old Trafford, and breaking back into the top four is the priority for the Manchester giants. If they can continue their excellent run, can United even make a late dash for the title?
Tottenham Hotspur
Antonio Conte recently ruled Tottenham Hotspur out of the title race, but Spurs are another club capable of putting a string of wins together. However, with the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea not too far behind, nailing down a place in the top four is the priority for the Lilywhites.
Tottenham has had a mixed bag of results this season, especially just before and after the international break. Still, they have an excellent squad of players and one of the best managers in the world.
Liverpool
Liverpool has battled with Man City for the Premier League title in recent years, but the Reds have been well off the pace so far. Right now, Liverpool are a whopping 16 points behind the leaders.
It will take a miracle for Liverpool to win the title this term, but the signing of Cody Gakpo should give them a real lift in the second half of their campaign. Winning the Champions League would save their season.
Premier League Odds & Prediction
Arsenal has made their best-ever start to a Premier League season, and Arteta’s boys have been very easy on the eye so far.
Having said that, Man City is sure to be relentless in its title pursuit from now until the end of the campaign, so the Gunners cannot afford many slip-ups in the remaining months.
At this moment in time, the north London outfit has the edge in terms of points, and the Arsenal champions 2023 odds are eye-catching at +150. However, our money is going on Man City at -163.
