As the month of February rolls along, and we get closer to the Big Dance, we start to look at all the aspects that could make a difference when the March Madness games come out. March Madness 2024 is set to be unlike no other. Let’s take a look at some March Madness players to watch so when the tournament gets here you are a step ahead, additionally, you will find the NCAAB odds for the Men’s Wooden award:
Best Players to Watch on March Madness
Zach Edey (-3000)
Leading the list of March Madness players to watch is the big man from Purdue. He is the third-leading scorer in College Basketball and the best rebounder. His team is ranked second in the most recent March Madness odds. A season ago, his team was knocked off in the first round. There is no doubt they have a chip on their shoulder coming into this season.
Alex Karaban –
The big guy from the nation’s top team has to be on this March Madness players-to-watch list. Connecticut has only lost two games all season, and there are going to be 67 other teams when the March Madness bracket comes out that does not want to see him and his teammates. He is coming off a 25-point performance at Georgetown. While he is not the top scorer for the Huskies, he is a complete game-changer on both ends of the court.
Tyler Kolek (+8000)
Another player from the Big East. This 6’3 guard is going to be one that fills up the March Madness player stats leaderboard. He has gone through a stretch of three straight games where he is averaging 25.3 points per game. He also had 13 assists in the win over St. John’s. He loves to have the ball in his hands but also can score the ball at will. Marquette is a team that can cut down the nets in April, and if they do, this is a guy you must keep your eyes on!
Kyle Filipowski (+6000)
The 7’0 center from New York leads the Duke Blue Devils. This is not a list of March Madness players to watch without him here. Big men can take over the game when push comes to shove. The center is scoring just shy of 17 points per game over his last four. He also helps on the defensive end to keep guys out of the paint. Duke is a very skilled and talented team that has flown under the radar a little bit so far in 2024.
Caleb Love (+10000)
The point guard from Arizona is a game-wrecker. He played 35 minutes in the win at Colorado and scored 19 points. In a win over Utah, he scored 19 and ripped down 10 rebounds per game. In the game before that, he had 7 assists. He is the most dangerous player on a dangerous team. The Wildcats have won five straight as we move along in February, and are another team with a chip on their shoulder following a tough 2023 NCAA Tournament trip.
Armando Bacot
Bacot has been there and done that in the Big Dance. He played in the national title game against Kansas back in April of 2022. The big man is scoring 14.2 points per game, and ripping down 10.3 rebounds per game. As we mentioned earlier, big dudes can take over the paint and lead their team. Guard play is essential, but without a big man dominating the paint, you cannot cut down the nets. Look for Bacot to be special this March.
Marcus Domask
Many have heard of Terrence Shannon Jr at Illinois, but a lot are unfamiliar with Domask. He is a Southern Illinois transfer that has done big things in the Big Ten. The 6’6 guard is scoring 15.5 points per game. He is the glue guy for Brad Underwood’s Fighting Illini. Illinois has had some good teams fall short in the big dance, so the due factor is there. Domask had 32 in the first meeting against Northwestern, and more recently 23 at Ohio State.
